Local company grants American Red Cross Chapter $20,000 for Preparedness efforts and $25,000 for Haiti Relief

Plantation, FL – The American Red Cross Broward County Chapter announced today that Jarden Consumer Solutions, a leading Consumer Products Company based in Boca Raton, has presented the Chapter with $20,000 to used for various preparedness initiatives across Broward County and an additional $25,000 to be used for Haiti relief efforts.   These funds were made possible through the JCS Community Fund,  Jarden’s employee-funded charitable giving entity which is matched by the Company.

“We support the Red Cross in preparing Broward as disaster can strike without warning in our own back yard,” said Rocki Rockingham, Vice President of Community Relations and Communications for Jarden Consumer Solutions and a Board Member of the American Red Cross, Broward County Chapter. “Our employees are proud to join forces with the American Red Cross to support their Haiti relief efforts while continuing to sustain our local Chapter which provides vital life-saving services to the Broward Community all year long.”

Through this grant, Jarden employees will team up with Red Crossers to deliver fire safety education to Broward County during Red Cross Month in March.  Later in the year, they will turn their focus to Hurricane Preparedness and Water Safety for the community.
