Leon Medical Centers contributes $100,000 to American Red Cross for Haiti relief

Miami, Florida – January 15, 2010 – Leon Medical Centers, Inc., a leading healthcare services provider for Medicare recipients in Miami-Dade County, today delivered a $100,000 donation to the American Red Cross for emergency aid for Haiti, which has been devastated by recent earthquakes.

Leon Medical Centers’ principals Benjamín León, III, President, and Albert Maury, President of Leon Medical Centers Health Plans, personally took the $100,000 check to American Red Cross.

“We feel deeply saddened by the loss and devastation in Haiti and will do everything we can to help our Caribbean neighbors recover from this terrible disaster.  We are asking that businesses and individuals do what they can to contribute monies to relief efforts,” said Benjamín León, III, President of Leon Medical Centers.

“We are very pleased to see members of the community step up and make this meaningful contribution to help with our ongoing relief effort in Haiti. This donation from Leon Medical Centers will help us in deliver the much needed supplies to the people in Haiti who need it the most,” said Sam Tidwell, Regional CEO of the American Red Cross.

The company has also mounted an internal campaign among its employees to collect money to send to the country for relief efforts.
