The American Red Cross South Florida region recognized the extraordinary efforts of about 30 volunteers who served aboard the USNS Comfort while the ship provided emergency medical services to the people of Haiti in the aftermath of the Jan. 12 earthquake that devastated the country.

CPR-A-Thon in Marathon set for March 27

On March 27, American Red Cross is hosting a massive CPR training at the City of Marathon Fire Station #14 (airport) on U.S. Highway 1 in Marathon. The “CPR-A-Thon in Marathon” will have several trainers available, from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., to enable dozens of people to be trained all in one day, in a relaxed, festive atmosphere. The cost is reduced to $25 each.
